On 26 April Lithuanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Audronius Ažubalis visited Energy Security center (ESC) situated in Vilnius, where together with National Defense and Energy Ministers Rasa Juknevičienė  and Arvydas Sekmokas discussed the prospects of inter-institutional cooperation for implementation of Lithuanian national energy security goals.
The ministers gave positive evaluation of the progress made since establishment of the center and stressed support to the ESC desire to gain the status of the NATO Centre of Excellence and contribute to strengthening the Alliance’s abilities in the energy security field.

The ESC was established under  the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on 14 January. The main function of the Center  - to participate together with Ministries of Defense, Science and Education and other state agencies and institutions in the implementation of state policy on energy security and international cooperation. The Centre aims to play an active role in the international public sphere, and to contribute to international energy security strengthening initiatives. Acting director of the Center is Audrius Brūzga.
